I feel our SHOOT/NO SHOOT scenarios are a great educational tool for hunters of all experience levels. Inexperience, buck fever and peer pressure can all contribute to you taking a shot you’ll later regret. Shot angles, shooting position, environmental conditions, distance and a case of BUCK FEVER are all considerations needing your attention prior to pulling the trigger.
Take the time to select the game animal you intend to hunt and read the captions describing the decisions we suggest, as well as aiming points to effect a swift humane kill. Never allow peer pressure from friends or the guide to encourage you to take a shot you are not comfortable with. Decisions like this can haunt you for a lifetime and can affect one’s decision to never hunt again, should the experience be traumatic. This is especially true for first-time hunters. It is our opinion that first-time hunters should do their best to limit shots to 200 yards or less. Make a doable shot a GUARANTEED shot by getting closer and surgically placing your bullet in the heart/lung cavity. An Ethical Hunter must know his/her limitations. Read more….
